CUPE Local 1022 - Committees
CUPE Local 1022 sits on a number of employer committees to represent your interests in everything from health and safety to professional development. Wherever possible, a representative from each jurisdictional group is elected by the membership and is on each employer committee.
In addition to employer committees, CUPE Local 1022 has a few of it's own that assist with the governance of the Union.
Consider getting involved with a committee and voice the concerns of yourself, your Brothers and Sisters and make YOUR workplace the best it can be!
Health & Safety Committee
The Union Health and Safety Committee also sits on the joint health and safety committee of the employer. The health and safety committee is responsible for ensuring our workplaces are as safe as possible and injury free.
Job Evaluation Committee
The Job Evaluation Committee is responsible for the review of all jobs in the bargaining unit be they new positions or existing positions that have changed over the years. If you feel your job has changed significantly over time and that you are not being compensated appropriately, contact the JE committee.
Professional Development Committee
The Professional Development Committee is responsible for the planning and execution of the CUPE Professional Development Day as agreed upon in the Collective Agreement. Additional information on PD and employer subsidy can also be found in this section.
Scholarship Committee
CUPE Local 1022 recognizes the importance of post secondary education and the ever increasing costs associated with attending a post secondary institute. Whether your child is destined for a trade school or university, YOUR union has scholarships available. The Scholarship Program is administered by the Scholarship Committee and more information can be found in this section.
Bargaining Committee
The Bargaining Committee is tasked with negotiating the collective agreement which governs how employees are compensated (wages, benefits, vacation, etc), working conditions (hours of work, technological change, etc) and so many others.
CUPE Local 1022 in conjunction with the Ontario School Board Coordinating Committee are involved in provincial bargaining with the Ministry of Education. Our collective agreement ends this August 31, 2012, so this site will host all up-to-date information available on this round of bargaining. |
